Pryce Sets the Pace

Pryce Sets the Pace

The first full day of rallying here in Finland draws to a close with Trophy leader Osian Pryce at the head of the pack, just +1.1sec ahead of Max Vatanen who is followed by Bernardo Sousa in +46sec.

The six afternoon stages were shared equally among the top three crews, each taking turn to set fastest times. Vatanen leads the tally with six overall, with Pryce and Sousa having three-a-piece.

Competition is tight at the top between Pryce and Vatanen and we saw the gap as narrow as 0.3sec during the second passes of today’s stages.

Gus Greensmith was in contention early on in the afternoon but reported engine boost issues on SS9. The British driver haemorrhaged time over the course of the afternoon, closing the day in seventh overall.

Elsewhere in the table, popular Polish pilot Jakub Brzezinski maintained a steady pace throughout the afternoon and was rewarded with a solid fourth overall.

The legendary Ouninpohja looms tomorrow and the crews are sure to be put through their paces.
