The 2015 Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy got off to a dusty start at the Lousada Eurocircuit in front of a sell out crowd. The super special stage was won by Marius Aasen, the young driver from Norway who is returning for his second season in the DDFT. He led British driver Tom Cave by 1.1sec. The popular Spaniard Nil Solans, who is hoping to build on the success he enjoyed in the final rally of the 2014 season, finished third just 1.4sec behind.

Marius Aasen said: “I’m pleased with the start we’ve made. I just tried to drive and save the tyres as much as possible and the time was a nice surprise. I think all the crews are just looking forward to getting started tomorrow afternoon. It should be a great rally.”

Tom Cave said: “It was an enjoyable start to the rally and good fun driving on a circuit like Lousada. You can’t get the same rhythm going as you can on the proper stages but it was fun all the same. Craig and I are looking forward to the challenge tomorrow’s stages should bring.”
